Hi, my name is Rebecca, I’m the chief barrista here at Beck’s Cafe.  Please pull up a chair for coffee and chit chat on a wide variety of issues!   We publish here a few days a week with both curated and original content.    While the writing on Beck’s Cafe is primarily focused on women, and transgender and transexual women in particular, everyone is welcome to read, explore, comment and enjoy.  General current topics being covered include being a care giver, gender, Massachusetts local issues of interest, faith, fashion, our bodies and other topics that hopefully inspire all of us to be “in the game” of life and not sit on the sidelines hoping for a hero or languishing.

We’ve been publishing for seven years!  In the past, our editorial focused on a very wide range of content to show that trans-women could write on any topic intelligently.  We covered topics from technology to health.  But with a new home being hosted at WordPress.com, we’re focusing our editorial topics down.   As  your Chief Barrista, I hope you enjoy!

Biography

I’m a married, Christian, transgender woman. I have the world’s best spouse, with whom we are working hard at evolving into best friends, two amazing kids who are all grown up (my how time passes),  a very cute but silly dog, and working professionally as Director of Marketing in high tech,  leading my firm’s e-commerce, online and offline marketing, (BtoB SEM, search engine marketing,  social media, web strategy, email marketing).

Interests

cooking, gender, writing, strength training, fitness walking, calligraphy, technology, pets, cave-woman eating, hiking, crafts, kayaking, jazz and blues music, gardening, transgender, the smell of grass freshly mowed, warm kittens in my lap, kids when they giggle, old movies with friends & pizza
