Beck's Cafe Heads Downeast to Hobnob at Maine Equality Dinner
I’ll be at the Maine Equality Dinner this coming weekend, March 26th, to support their work in Maine. When my gal pal from Maine invited me up I jumped at the chance. I had missed last year’s event and, she’s my friend, so why not support her and one of her most important causes? I think that’s what friends do for each other because it shows you are really interested in them as people and in their lives. We can’t support everything for each other, as another friend reminded me on my way to work this morning, but, supporting some of what impassions each of us says in some small way, “hey, I think you rock”.
Part of this adventure will involve a stop at Fabu. The purpose is of course to get gorgeous but, more importantly in my economy is getting gorgeous with two other gal pals meeting me in Maine. I see them regularly, but, I never tire of our playful interaction or great conversations on topics ranging from politics to technology to gender. You can make a friendship visit out of almost any mundane task and, best of all, it turns the mundane into the magical as sure as Tinkey Bell’s pixie dust can make you fly.
Maine currently does not recognize same sex (gender) marriages but they do recognize domestic partnership
