NHK, Japan Today and Japan Times offer Japanese View of Tsunami Disaster

The disastrous tsunami and earthquake in Japan of last week was horrifying.  As horrifying as any of the other incredible natural disasters of the past few years, including hurricane Katrina here in the  U.S.  During that disaster, I linked to The Interdictor’s Weblog.  This blog was a live feed of:

Five employees New Orleans-based DirectNIC have been holed up since just before the storm blew in nearly a week
ago on the 10th and 11th floors of the building that houses their
headquarters. (see C/net for their story).

There was nothing like hearing what was happening at the center of the hurricane from those actually there.  In that same spirit, I’d like to suggest my readers checkout the coverage in Japan at NHK World (Japan International Broadcasting), Japan Today and Japan Times.  All are based in Tokyo and have the Japanese view of what happened, and, their recovery.

NHK World has particularly compelling coverage as they are broadcasting video and video interviews.

And if you are from Japan and Beck’s Cafe has come up in your browser through a search for “Japan” here is a link to some helpful phone numbers in Japan, established to help you in this time:  Japan Times List of Helpful Web Sites and Phone Numbers
