Women Jailed for Asking for the Right to Vote? Check Your Women's History

As my hyper-aware readers know by now, March 8th is International Women’s Day and all of March is Women’s History Month.  There was lots of stuff to do that day here in Boston, but, there’s also lots of stuff to read as well.  Ms. Magazine’s David Dismore, is offering up some special writing, “In honor of Women’s History Month, I’m authoring a ‘this day in feminist history’ post in you-are-there fashion throughout March.”   His posts seem to be focusing on the Suffragette movement, at least early on.

The Ms. Magazine pieces are done in “live blogging” style, as if you were there, reading a blog being typed while the writer was watching the event.  The stories are compelling, the writing is excellent and the lessons are clear.   This is well worth your time to click to Ms. Magazine to have a read:  Ms. Magazine Women’s History Month Special Series
