Hey Kel!!

It has been a long time!! I know how the work thing goes for sure. I was up to FE10 late due to that as well. You can read a synopsis of our seminar, The Unlikely Activist here at Beck's Cafe at this link: "<a href="http://beckscafe.com/2009/06/21/trans-civil-rights-lobby-day-roundtable-with-michelle-paula-rebecca/" rel="nofollow">Trans Civil Rights Lobby Day: Roundtable with Michelle, Paula & Rebecca</a>" We covered what was in that article.

Gunner was terrific as the panel facilitator. He opened it up with a general state of the state on the bill. The bill is stuck in the judiciary committee behind the CORI Reform Bill. The feeling is that because CORI Reform has priority, our bill won't get out until CORI Reform moves.

He then asked each of questions about why we got involved in activism, what was our motivation, and how we opened up the conversation with our representatives. These were great questions to get us talking. We had some very good questions from the crowd on how the community of faith is accepting or not accepting and how that effected us. We had good attendance too; something like 20 or so :)

Hey!

Ltns... As always seems the case (ugh) work is going to keep me from attending any of FE, but if there's anyway you could post either a vid, transcript, synopsis, or even simply the highlights of "The Unlikely Activist" I'd be interested- sounds like a very interesting topic ('specially for those of us who aren't the typical activist "type." ;)

I hope your '10 is going well! Take care :)
