I like bird watching and when I stumbled upon this finding I was really psyched. I can’t imagine how gorgeous these birds are. How neat that your co-worker was on the expedition. I got to see some of his snapshots from his search expeditions, showing, well, not actually an Ivory Billed Woodpecker, but some damage to some trees that is supposedly uniquely characteristic of the Ivory Billed Woodpeckers, and therefore strong evidence that they were in the area. Very cool stuff! Sonia
